Dreamweaver, html and css

Dreamweaver is the tool of choice for many in education who wish to write websites, and a very useful tool it is. Yet the fact remains that the web is written in html, and Dreamweaver is simply a tool to help write the code and organise a site.

This helpfile takes the lead from many out there on the web already, using Dreamweaver to assist in the writing of a website. However, the latter parts of the session involve mainly code-based tasks to show that the majority of what is covered could be done with a simple text editor alongside a file manager, which every operating system has. Dreamweaver just makes things easier.

This session takes much of its content from items published on the web already, and from the Secondary National Strategy materials. There is an emphasis on addressing the needs of SNS Sample Teaching Unit 8.2.

Take a look at this link Powerpoint for a powerpoint introduction to the layout of the tools in Dreamweaver and the creation of a web page using tables. Use Dreamweaver to follow through the steps in shown to create a header. Ignore the references to css file since you won’t have access to these files yet.
